It has been an incredibly challenging few weeks for federal employees (and aspiring federal employees) here in Washington, D.C. In some ways that makes today's How I Lawyer Podcast episode particularly timely.
In it I speak with Husch Blackwell Partner Mike G. Silver who spent more than twelve years at the CFPB. We talk about his path from private practice to government, his experiences once he got to government, and his process for transitioning out and what he is up to now.
I know Mike and I both remain hopeful for the future of the agencies that do important work on behalf of all Americans and the many lifelong civil servants who serve.
Before joining Husch Blackwell, Mike spent 12 years at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and 7 years as an associate at Pillsbury. Mike earned his degrees from the University of Pennsylvania (where he served as student body president) and George Washington University Law School (where he was active on Law Review and Moot Court Board). Prior to law school, Mike worked as a legislative assistant at the Religious Action Center.
