This message is primarily for my New York subscribers.
I need your help.
As a How I Lawyer Podcast listener, you know that I am a firm believer that in order to make the legal profession better we need better mentorship of law students and junior lawyers. 2 years ago I joined the board of the non-profit The Legal Mentor Network in order to support this vision. The hardest part for providing effective mentorship is connecting the right mentor with the right mentee. That is why the Legal Mentor Network was founded.
The Network gives ANY junior lawyer or law student 2 MENTORS all for free and at scale. The success of the program in the first two years has been incredible!
But we can do so much more. So here is the ask: LMN is hosting an event in New York City on October 25 to celebrate and raise funds for this incredible organization. I am coming up from DC and am looking to have a good contingent there of friends, former students, and podcast listeners.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE WORKED WITH THE ORGANIZATION BEFORE TO JOIN US. In fact, this is an incredible opportunity to find a mentor or start your mentorship journey.
Tickets are reasonably priced and, if you work at a law firm, I am confident they will support your attendance if you just ask (seriously). Can’t come? Let me know if you want to sponsor a junior lawyer or law student attending even if you can't join us.
If I get enough friends, colleagues, or just pocket friends or podcast listeners I am happy to host a pre- or post- event meet up.
Please sign up for this exciting event. Please join us. Please bring a few firm/organization friends. See you there.
